Open Position: Director of Children and Family Ministries

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Director of Children and Family Ministries (DCFM) to plan and implement programs for families and children (birth through early adolescence). The person in this part-time position (5-12 hours a week) will work closely with our Director of Faith Formation and Outreach, Senior Minister, and a team of volunteers. They must be able to embody the warm welcome that is the heart of our mission and be able to authentically share their faith in a way that encourages the faith of others.

The DCFM will lead and coordinate creative programming that deepens faith and helps our children and their families thrive spiritually. They will be instrumental in developing and implementing the Sunday morning faith formation program for Children, as well as periodic service/outreach projects for young families. They will also be active in recruiting and mentoring a team of volunteers.
Preferred skills and attributes:
  • A warm, welcoming personality, a love for children and a desire to build personal relationships with them and their families
  • A passion for guiding and accompanying children and families on their spiritual journeys
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be a a team player, working well with volunteers and staff
  • Effective communication skills, including social media
  • Excellent administrative skills, including record keeping, volunteer recruitment, training and event planning.
  • Adaptable, creative, and open to trying new ways of supporting children and families spiritually
